Why are you here?

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father, but by Me.”

– John 14:6

Which Jesus Do You Have?

Which Jesus do you have? The Jesus of historic, biblical Christianity said” I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me” John 14:6. Jesus in Matthew7:13,14″ enter in at the narrow gate, for wide is the gate, and Broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be who go in that way, because narrow is the gate, and hard is the way, which leads unto life and few there be that find it”. Note: if you are wrong about Jesus Christ and whose son he is, you are wrong enough to lose your soul for all eternity.” He that believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he that believes not the son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him”. John 3:36. This believing is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation apart from any works for that salvation. John 6:28,29 Luke 8:12. This Jesus of historic biblical Christianity, fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecies concerning the coming Messiah. Luke 24:44-46 Jesus said to his disciples after his resurrection” these are the words which I spoke unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning me”. Then opened he their understanding that they might understand the scripture, and said unto them” thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead on the third day.” Though there are hundreds of prophecies concerning Christ alone, here are a few of these prophecies written hundreds of years prior, concerning the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. Note: though there are hundreds, let’s look at just eight fulfilled prophecies in one person written hundreds of years prior to that one person’s birth, for example, the person’s gender, date of birth, name given at birth, place of birth, occupation, genealogy, where he lived, and how he was to die. The probability of all eight predictions written hundreds of years prior, fulfilled in one individual is one in 10 to the 17th power. That’s 10 with 17 zeros. To illustrate this, cover the state of Texas two feet deep with quarters, mark  one of the quarters with a red dot. Now blindfold an individual and send him across the state, and at some point he reaches down among the quarters, pulling out the one with the Red Dot. This is an example of one in 10 to the 17th power. This illustrates just eight fulfilled prophecies, Jesus fulfilled hundreds of prophecies about himself, not just eight. Hebrews 10:1-10,” volume of the book is written of me”

John the Baptist, the Forerunner of Christ, prophesied in Malachi 3:1, and Isaiah 43:3-5, fulfilled in Matthew 3:1-11, Mark 1:1-11, Luke 3:1-20 ( note the historical timeline in Luke3:1,2) also note John 1:6-8,15-34, John the Baptist, imprisoned by Herod the tetrarch of Galilee Luke 3:19,20, sent two of his disciples to Jesus and asked,” art thou he that should come( speaking of the Messiah) or do we look for another”? Jesus answered and said unto them” Go and show John again those things which you do hear and see, the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them, and blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”. A fulfillment of Prophecy written in the 8th Century BC, Isaiah 35:4-6. Matthew 9:35, and Jesus went about all the cities and Villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Also note, Matthew 11:2-6, Mark 7:33-37, Luke 7:19-23, John 5:5-9.

Jesus continually spoke of the many prophecies concerning himself, Luke 24:25-27, then he said unto them,” o foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken, ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them, in all the scriptures, the things concerning himself. No other individual can claim these things, thus only Jesus Christ is able to save us, Matthew 1:21. The prophet Isaiah wrote( 8th Century BC) Isaiah 7:14, therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign, behold, the Virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel, God With Us. Isaiah 9:6 continues, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name Shall be Called wonderful, counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting father, the Prince of Peace. Fulfilled in Matthew 1:18-23, Luke 1:26-38, John 1:1-5,14, 4:25,26. The Messiah must be born in the line of David, thus born in Bethlehem, Micah 5:2, but as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, who’s goings forth have been from of old, from Everlasting. Fulfilled in Matthew 2:1-12, Luke 2:1-7. Jesus referring to himself as the light of the world John 8:12, beginning his ministry in Galilee was a fulfillment of Isaiah 9:1,2, fulfilled Matthew 4:12,16,23

Jesus understood the Old Testament scriptures, Luke 4:16-19, ” and he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah, and when he had opened the book he found the place where it was written,( Isaiah 61:1,2) ” the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach Deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at Liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord”. What he read from the scroll of Isaiah refer to his first coming, he stopped there because the rest of the verse describes his second coming and judgement, ( Revelation 1:7, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, note verse 20, and he closed the book and gave it again to the minister, and sat down. The eyes of all of them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him verse 21, and he began to say unto them, this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. Only this Jesus could command nature: one night on the Sea of Galilee with his disciples in the midst of a raging Storm, Jesus being fast asleep in the bow of a small boat, the disciples came to Jesus saying” carest thou not that we perish”? Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and said to the Sea” peace be still”, and the wind ceased and there was a great calm. Those who were in The Boat feared greatly and said one to another” what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the Sea obey him.” Mark 4:350-41, Matthew 8:23-27, Luke 8:22-25, other references of Jesus commanding nature are as follows: John 2:1-11 Mark 6:45-52, John 6:15-21, Matthew 17:24-27, 21:18-22 14:22-33, Luke 5:3-11, John 21:3-11

Jesus riding into Jerusalem upon a donkey ( as prophesied in Zechariah 9:9 ” Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, behold, thy King cometh unto thee, he is just and having salvation, lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a Colt, the foal of an ass “. ) in the midst of a crowd, singing Hosanna ( save now ) to the son of David, blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord, hosanna in the highest, Matthew 21:1-11, Luke 19:28-40, and some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, master, rebuke your disciples. And he answered, and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. Luke 19:41-44 and when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, saying, if thou hadst known even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hidden from thine eyes. For the day shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and Compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee, and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another, because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. This triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, April 6th AD, is a fulfillment of the prophecy given by Daniel, in the sixth Century BC, Daniel 9:25, know, therefore, and understand, that from the going forth of the Commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until Messiah the prince, shall be 7 weeks, and threescore and two weeks, the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. The only decree in scripture authorizing the rebuilding of the city and its walls as recorded in Nehemiah chapter 2 dated in the month of Nisan, in the 20th year of artaxerxes the king 445BC. From this date, as a beginning, the first 69 weeks to reach to ” Messiah the prince ” 173880 days later, Jesus rode into Jerusalem and wept over the city, as they missed the day of their arriving Messiah. “The length of the period intervening between issuing of the decree to rebuild Jerusalem and the public Advent of ” Messiah the prince”, between the 14th of March B.C. 445 and the 6th of April, A.D. 32. The interval contained exactly and to the very day 173880 days, or seven times sixty-nine prophetic years of 360 days, the first 69 weeks of the Angel Gabriel’s prophecy as recorded in Daniel.” Quote from “The Coming Price ” by Sir Robert Anderson, page 127 and 128.   Luke 19:41-44, Jesus in Luke 19:43-44 describes yet a future time (AD70 ) when Titus the Roman conqueror destroys Jerusalem also a fulfillment of Daniel 9:26.

After this prophetic entry, Zechariah 9:9, Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples, having already told them what he would suffer Mark 10:32, Luke 18:31-33, and sadly knowing one of the 12 disciples would betray him. Matthew 26:20-25, and so at the Passover meal Jesus taking the bread ” this is my body, broken for you ” and the cup ” this cup is the New Testament in my blood which is shed for many for the remission of sins ” Matthew 26:21-25, Mark 14:18-21, John 13:18-30, Luke 22:19,20. After singing A Hymn they went out into the Mount of Olives, and Jesus said to them ” all of you will be offended because of me this night, for it is written I will Smite the shepherd and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad”, Zechariah 13:7, fulfilled Matthew 26:56, and as Jesus said all forsook him and fled. Judas Iscariot, one of the 12 betrayed Jesus as foretold in Zechariah 11:12, for 30 pieces of silver, fulfilled in Matthew 26:15, Mark 14:10, Luke 22:3-6, Judas realizing he has betrayed the Messiah, Returns the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and Elders, they in turn purchase The Potter’s field as prophesied in Zechariah 11:13, fulfilled Matthew 27:1-10

Just as Jesus had warned his disciples, Mark 10:31-34, Matthew 20:18-19, Luke 18:31-34, on his way up to Jerusalem, as previously mentioned, Saying” behold we go up to Jerusalem and all things that are written by the prophets( hundreds of years before) concerning the son of man must be accomplished, for he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, Matthew 27:1,2, mark 15:1, Luke 23:1, John 18, and shall be mocked, prophesied Psalm 22:7,8, fulfilled Matthew 27:31,39-44; mark 15:29-32, Luke 23:36-39; and spitefully treated, Matthew 27:18, Mark 15:10, Luke 23:11, and spit upon, prophesied Isaiah 50:6, fulfilled Matthew 26:67,27:30; mark 14:65, again they were Scourge him, Isaiah 50:6, fulfilled John 19:1, Matthew 27:26, Mark 15:15, and put him to death, Isaiah chapter 53, documents the vicarious sacrifice of Christ, verse 4, surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows, yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Verse 5 but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. Verse 6 all we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way, and the lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Verse 7 he was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth, he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.( note Matthew 27:13 ” and he answered him never a word, insomuch that the governor marveled greatly.” Psalm 22:18 and they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled by the prophet, they parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. Psalm 22, a Messianic Psalm of the suffering savior, describe some of what the Lord Jesus went through on the cross. Verse7 all they who see me laugh me to scorn, they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying, verse 8 he trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him, let him deliver him seeing he delighted in him. Matthew 27:43 he trusted in God, let him deliver him now, if he will have him, for he said, I am the son of God. Mark 15:24 and when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots for them, what every man should take verse 27 and with him they crucify two thieves, the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. Verse 28 and the scripture was fulfilled which says, and he was numbered with the transgressors Isaiah 53:12. Psalm 22 14-17 describe some of what Christ suffered on the cross, I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint, my heart is like Wax, it is melted Within Me, my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue Cleaves to my jaws, and thou Hast brought me into the dust of death, for dogs have compassed me, they look and stare upon me. Psalm 22:1 my God my God, why hast Thou forsaken me, fulfilled Matthew 27:46, mark 15:34 and about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying Eli, Eli, la’ma sabach’thani? That is to say, My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:50, mark 15:34, after this, when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, father, into thy hands I commend my spirit, and having said this, he gave up the spirit( note Jesus as God the son sharing with the disciples, John 10:17,18 therefore does my father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man takes it from me but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received from my father.《 Isaiah 53:12 he has poured out his soul unto death, fulfilled Matthew 27 50, psalm 34:20 he keeps all his bones not one of them is broken, fulfilled John 19:33,36, when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already, they broke not his legs, Zechariah 12:10, they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, fulfilled John 19:34,37, one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side. Isaiah 53:9, he made his grave with the rich in his death fulfilled Matthew 27:57-60, when the evening was come, there came a rich man, Joseph of Arimathea, who went to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus, and laid it in his own new Tomb.

These Old Testament prophecies, and there are many others, are but a few that document the vicarious ( acting or done for another) sacrifice of Christ taking on himself our sin and judgement that we rightfully deserved. As John the Baptist proclaimed” Behold the Lamb( sacrificial) of God that takes away the sin of the world” John 1:29; 4:42. As Jesus had predicted, sharing with his disciples, and as was written hundreds of years before, Jesus” brought as a lamb to the slaughter” Isaiah 53:7 was taken to the cross of Calvary and there crucified, proving” once for all” Hebrews 9:12 ; 10:10, that this Jesus was the Messiah. Jesus not only predicted his death, but in three days he would rise again,” Matthew 20:18,19,” behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priest and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to Mock and to Scourge and to crucify him and the third day he shall rise again. Mark 9:31″ the son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him and after he is killed, he shall rise the third day. Again speaking to his disciples mark 10:34 and they shall mock him, and shall Scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him, and the third day he shall rise again. Luke 18:33 and they shall scourge him, and put him to death, and the third day he shall rise again, John 20:9 for as yet they knew not the scripture that he must Rise Again from the dead, note psalm 16:10. Luke 24:2-8 and they found the stone rolled away from the Sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them, and Shining garments (angels) and as they were afraid, and bow down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, why seek you the living among the Dead? He is not here but is risen remember how he spoke unto you when he was yet in Galilee saying the son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and the third day rise again and they remembered his words.   The question earlier stated is this, which Jesus do you have? This very Jesus rising on the third day as he said, becoming the sin offering for us, 2nd Corinthians 5:21, he who knew no sin was made to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in him. This Jesus Romans 4:25 who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Romans 5:8 but God commendeth his love toward us and that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes on him will never perish but have eternal life. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Only this Jesus offers us eternal life as a ” free gift ” Ephesians 2:8,9 to those who, apart from any works, simply place their faith and trust in Christ alone for salvation. Jesus was asked a direct question John 6:28,29 then said they unto him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered, and said unto them, this is the work of God that you believe on him whom he has sent. Acts 4:12 neither is there salvation in any other for there is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Only this Jesus had power on Earth to forgive sin Mark 2:9, only this Jesus had power to lay down his life and power to take it up again John 10:18 this Jesus that fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecies and righteous demands of the law” now sits at the right hand of the power of God” Luke 22 69; Acts 7:55,56  this is the Jesus of biblical Christians, who have no other Jesus, books, prophets or new translations. Jude 1:3,4 beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints for there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation ungodly men turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus warned of false prophets and false Christ, mark 13:21,22, and then, if any man shall say to you Lo here is Christ, or low he is there believe him not. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, even if it were possible, even the elect, verse 23 but take heed, behold I have foretold you all things. Matthew 24:11, and many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Sadly, just as Jesus predicted, there are those knocking on our doors, using Christian terminology to confuse and disarm the unsuspecting, that when pressed would have to deny the basic tenets of the Christian faith. In his book ” the kingdom of the Cults” Dr Walter Martin, the world’s foremost authority on the cults originating in the United States, observed, “it should be noted that hardly ever in their discourses will such cultists discuss the essential problem of evil, the existence of personal sin, or the necessity of the substitutionary atonement of Christ as the sole means of Salvation from sin, through the agency of divine grace and the exercise of faith.” Chapter 2, scaling the language barrier, page 20. Chapter 17, the Jesus of the Cults, Martin wrote, “since the earliest days of Christianity, both Apostle and disciple alike have been confronted with the perversion of the revelation God has given us in the person of Jesus Christ. This perversion has extended historically, not just to the teachings of Our Lord, but more important, to the person of Christ, for it is axiomatic that if the doctrine of Christ himself, i.e., His Person, nature and work are perverted, so the identity of the life-giver is altered, then the life which He came to give is correspondingly negated. And it is at precisely this juncture that in this day and age, we come face-to-face with the phenomenon which the Apostle Paul described in 2nd Corinthians chapter 11 as ‘the other Jesus’” It’s interesting to note that three groups emerged in the 1800’s, all proclaiming another gospel and another Jesus. All three claiming they had new ” Revelations ” announced by their supposed prophets.       Mormons 1830, adhere to the writings of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, no higher authority can be quoted in Mormonism, this fact they have never denied. Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1879, follow their Prophets, Charles Taze Russell and Franklin Rutherford. Christian Science and new thought, Unity School of Christianity 1879, their founder Mary Ann Morse Baker, better known as Mary Baker Eddy, or more correctly attributed to Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, both cult systems of America gnosticism, follow the writings of Phineas Parkhurst Quimby.

The Jesus of Islam? The Koran, Islam’s supposed “holy” book, refers to Jesus as ISA (ESA), although no such word in Arabic. The Arabic equivalent is YASU’. Another Jesus completely foreign to the historical Jesus of the Old and New Testaments. For further documentation go to pfander films.      Pfander Films Youtube Channel

The question remains, which Jesus do you have, the Jesus of historic biblical Christianity, fulfilling all the Old Testament prophecies concerning himself proving that he in fact was the son of God, He alone able to pay for our sin on the cross and offer eternal life to all those who place their faith and trust in him alone for salvation. Or do you have the other Jesus, the other gospel, proclaimed by those false prophets Jesus warned about. Galatians 1:6, I Marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel, which is not another, but there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you then that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed( eternally condemned). As we said before, so say I now again if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that you have received, let him be accursed( eternally condemned) 2nd Corinthians 11:3,4 but I fear, less by any means, so your minds should be corrupted from the Simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another Spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him?   Jesus asked his disciples this question and may well ask you the the same,” whom do men say that I am?” Peter rightly responded,” Thou art the Christ, the son of the Living God. Thus it behooves us, not to listen to those so-called Prophets, but to listen to the response Jesus gave to Peter,” flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you but my father, who is in heaven” Matthew 16:16,17, Luke 9:18-21, mark 8:27-30, John 6:68,69    would you like Assurance of salvation? Simply pray this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I also believe that you are the Christ the son of the Living God, I confess my sin, and acknowledge you paid the penalty for my sin there on the cross and offer the free gift of Salvation to me as I place my faith and trust in you alone for salvation. thank you and help me to live my life honoring you, amen.”
